GMSV Brings A C8 Corvette To Australia’s ‘The Bend’ Motorsport Park
Ahead of sales of the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray commencing in Australia in the fourth quarter, General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) recently brought one to The Bend Motorsport Park near the city of Adelaide.
As Holden is no more, the new Corvette will be sold by GMSV and while the example featured in this video is left-hand drive, GM will actually build the C8 Corvette in right-hand drive. Evidently, though, it didn’t have one ready just yet. In addition to showcasing a Corvette equipped with the Z51 package lapping the track, the video shows the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium that GMSV also sells locally.

Back in March, GMSV revealed that the entry-level Corvette 2LT sold in Australia would start at AU$144,990 (US$112,967). However, it was recently revealed by Which Car? that this price is before on-road costs, statutory chargers, and dealer delivery costs. When these are factored in, the Corvette actually starts at AU$187,990 (US$146,470) drive-away for the 2LT Coupe. Prices rise to AU$203,990 (US$158,936) for the 2LT Convertible, AU$204,990 (US$159,715) for the 3LT Coupe, and top out at AU$220,490 (US$173,740) for the 3LT Convertible.
GMSV has also pointed out that prices are subject to change for the 2023 model year. Only a limited number of 2022 model year Corvettes are expected to be sold in Australia and for 2023, customers will be offered a plethora of new options while also enjoying a more bespoke ordering process.
